Lake Jovita Country Club Could Become Its Own City

Dade City – Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club has begun a campaign to become Pasco County’s newest municipality. During last week’s Homeowners Association meeting, Director Debra Ross announced that the HOA would create a petition to begin the process of seceding from Dade City.

“This petition will need to be signed by at least one fourth of our residents before we can formally have a vote,” Ross said at Friday’s meeting. “We formed the HOA in 1999 with the vision of creating an upper-class utopia: a place for Pasco County’s elite to live lavishly without having to interact with Middle America. This petition is the first step towards paradise.”

Ross said she envisions Lake Jovita becoming a fully functioning society complete with its own local government, private schools, supermarket and luxury shopping mall. “We will do everything possible to ensure that our citizens don’t have to go beyond our gates and put themselves at risk of communicating with Outsiders,” she explained.

If the petition receives enough signatures a vote will then be held by Lake Jovita residents to further decide the fate of the country club. Many Lake Jovita residents are ecstatic over the recent news.

“I think this is long overdue. We moved our family inside the gates of Lake Jovita so we could ensure we live the quality of life that we deserve,” explained Lake Jovita resident Cynthia Goldstein. “We’ve been sending our precious children to St. Anthony Catholic School down the street but we have considered homeschooling because leaving the gates of Lake Jovita is too dangerous and I really just don’t want my children to have poor friends. It’s honestly terrifying to wake up in the morning and know that I’m at risk of communicating with Outsiders every time I take my children to school.”

Director Debra Ross says the eventual plan is to include a municipal airport so residents can avoid Outsiders at airports when taking exotic vacations, as well as more strict security at the gate to insure that non-residents are no longer allowed to enjoy the luxuries of Lake Jovita.
